Mountain Jam from 10-20-09

We had a good jam on Tuesday, 10-20-09. Charles Kitchen, Jimmy Landry, that little 'ol band from Old Fort- Rewind, T. Doyle, Tom Rogers, Ken Swensen, Dave Hinton and Doug Douglas sat in that night. The house band, Sons of Ralph included guest bassist David McPeters, AKA Phil, D. McPherson, and Mac Peterson. He did a great job subbing for Steve Mosely, who was on vacation on a cruise ship.

We did some Grateful Dead, Hank Williams Sr, Carl Perkins, Motown, some originals and some songs I haven't heard in years. That's the thing I like about our jams - you never know what's going to show up on our radar.

Congrats to the Sons of Ralph for their recent win in the Mountain Express for best bluegrass band. I can think of no better band for our Mountain Jams than the Sons.

New geetar

I added a new geetar to my arsenal. It's a genuine cigar-box guitar I got off eBay. I may bring it on down to the Mountain Jam soon.

We had a fun night on Tuesday Oct 13. The Sons of Ralph and I had a blast. We tried a few new songs including the old We Five number "You were on my mind", as well as a WR original "Airplane" and a Sons original "When I find time", the new title track off their new CD.

Our guest musicians included "English" Dave Hinton (DR),Daniel Martin (S/S), Doug Douglas (DR), Big AL (AG & Vox), Pete James (GTR), Ken Swensen (DR), and Eual Owens (Vox & Gtr).

We've got a great show lined up for Tuesday Oct 20. Come on down to the Feed and Seed, 3715 Hendersonville Road in Fletcher (corner of Fanning Bridge Rd). We're there from 7:30-9:30 every Tuedsay, and admission is Freeeeeee!
